I have a Defender 3.3kVA 240V-110V Transformer Part no. E203012.

After sporadic, light use over the past four years it has stopped working. We normally use site supplied 10 kVA transformers for our power supply so it is really only light power tool use at home that this has been used for. I have run a 110v Leister Hot Air Gun which draws 1500W on this for half days at a time, but as i said it is very rare for this to be on consecutive days.

I have changed the fuse in the plug, rewired the plug & moved the lead locking position at the casing to see if a break has occurred in the lead but to no avail.

Please advise me of any diagnosis or repairs that would help me fix this item.

Thermal trip unit will have either activated or gone kaputt, looks like a little black or red button normally near to where the cord enters the transformer. Or thermal fuse inside has blown
