I changed an oldd rewirable wylex fuse board where someone had written on the front of a 30 am fuse holder "15 amp only " needless to say it was a 30 amp wire that was in as it was the only socket circuit in flat .(the live had popped out the cookerhood switch)makes you wonder why the regs don't do something about rewireable fuses.a leased tenant can easily upgrade a fuse wire to any size by nipping down to local shop but they can't change an mcb or are very very unlikely to do so.ive seen a 5 amp fuse wire been wrapped around the terminals several times because its so fiddely and someone has lost the rag .
