Dewalt for me, about 6 months now. So far so good.
Was using Milwaukee before that working with another fella, they are good too, but heavy due to the steel casing, though if you're clumsy or likely to have others use your stuff they would be a bit more tolerable for abuse I'd imagine.
Dewalt had a few extra items I thought better, so that was another reason too.
Im a dewalt man myself but know a few lads that have Milwaukee and they can't rave enough about them but I'm only domestic so not like I'm going to be using heavy work loads all the time
Always used dewalt never any bother, but could never get the jigsaw blades to stay in the chuck, had both jigsaw slide and stick pack same problem. Originaly went for dewalt 14 v because of metal chuck when others were plastic , stuck with them ever since. Most of the top brands are comparable.
The 2 brands were virtually side by side in test results. I watched a load of video tests lol plus they have both 3 year warranty. I think the Dewalt is slightly less cost than the Milwaukee.
My advice would be to go and see what's available in both the ranges, and price them up to see which best fits your budget. Either in a tool store or online, and don't be afraid to ask your local guy to price match online,
Went for Milwaukee several years ago, have had no fails yet. The 18V sds gets used and abused every working day, highly recommended. Their brushless stuff is as powerful as you will ever need. Batteries are cheap too and don't have a programmed maximum number of charges like Makita batteries do. They make a lot of specialist tools as well.
My sds is a Bosch, most of my other gear is Dewalt. I was getting fed-up with lack of power when drilling joists using either. After some investigation I also purchased a Milwaukee 18Volt Fuel combi, and it has twice the power of the Dewalt. I can't recommend the Milwaukee enough.
I've got Dewalt mainly, but have a Makita 18v Combi drill and impact driver. My big drill is a beastly Hilti 36v which eats through anything I have put it in front of.
Got Dewalt 2x drills, Milwaukee 1x drill, Bosch 1x SDS, Metabo core drill but I like them all. Also a lot of other drills I couldn't resist buying on ebay.
