difference between 2391-10 and 2391-20

as above really. what is the difference between city and guilds 2391-10 and 2391-20?

the 2391 -10 is for inspecting and testing electrical installations
the 2391-20 is for designing electrical installations

They both share an identical practical exam and passing this on either qualification removes the need to pass it again on the other.

Both have a full written, 2391-10 being 'closed book' and 2391-20 has a design project that is completed away from the classroom.

The 2391-10 is favoured far more by employers and is traditionally taken first.

2391-20 is a very worthwhile course (as is 2391-10), but as has been said it is never asked for by employers (most of whom are probably unaware of its existence).

There is supposed to be a new version of 2391, perhaps the 2392, which is testing and inspecting for installations up to 100A.
