Morning all.

After some information requires Regulation 14 and live working.

What safety precautions must you do if you have exposed live conductors? Would PPE be enough or would you have to cover up exposed live conductors?
Thanks

You might need to elaborate on the situation

Sure. You are working, let’s say, a crabtree C50 db, fully exposed busbars. To what level would you need to go to conduct live workings?

Would PPE be fine, or would you need to cover all exposed conductors?

Thanks

PPE is a last resort.
In attempting to cover the exposed conductors you are working live, so you'd need to find the solution to enable you to do that.

Is this a theoretical / assessment / training question?

Theoretically. Just trying to understand the legal stance behind the regulation. So many electricians are happy to work live, but I do feel they are in breach of this regulation

I have no doubt an electrician would be happier to work with the supply dead rather than running the risk of being dead themselves.
