Hi

we have a 50 h p motor driving a agittaor thru gear box 50 hp 1500:155 rpm ration rpm.
Frequency drive is dranfoss we are monitoring the power drwan by the motor is very less at 100% load.

The readings are as below at 100%

v 390 v

kw 19

amps 34

rpm 1470

motor name plate details

v 380 v

hp 50

amps 59

rpm 1460

The drive can calculate speed dependent on voltage, frequency and current drawn which is an approximation or it can be closed loop where it receives feedback from various methods of choice to give a very accurate reading.

What exactly are you wanting to know ...reading through the thread Im still not sure what you want to know?

The motor is running at full speed but not full load which means you can add extra load to the motor and it should have no problem coping with it...

This is just basic stuff for any Electrical Engineer ...why are you getting involved with this if you don't understand the basic concepts? No offense meant BTW

Your drive is telling you that the motor when you took down the readings was running at approx 55% -60% capacity giving you scope to increase the work load --- ie more product to agitate..

Thank you dark wood

i did not understand How does the drive monitor speed? (Open/closed loop). ??!!

load connected to motor is A agitator for a fermenter. which has reducing gear box 1560:155 ratio speed . the fermentor capacity is 5000 L.Approximate spc gravity of the liquid inside the tank is 1.1501
i gues the mechanical load for that motor is 19 KW only..
if speed is 100% mechanical load must not to be 100% right??!!

my doubt is cleared MR

thank you for your kind reply

i wanted to know is at 100% speed the power consumed by the motor was lesser than rated power now i under stood that the connected or delivered power itself is less so it is showing less
