Hello all

I have recently finished re wiring a customers kitchen and the last job was retuning the digital TV she has in it. This TV worked perfectly well before the new kitchen was installed, however since trying to retune it I can only pick up BBC channels.

There are 3 TV's in the house. 2 of them are connected to an aerial at the front of the house (one of those has a Virgin box connected to it) and the other is in the kitchen, which has it's own aerial at the back of the house. I have checked the connection of the aerial at the back so I know that is not the problem.

The Coax cable which goes into the back of the TV has not been damaged in any way.

I'm stuck for ideas, any help would be appreciated!

I don't have an analyser. The coax goes straight into the back of the TV

Forgot to mention, I re tuned the TV whilst it was connected to the front aerial and it was picking up channels. I did this to eliminate the possibility of the TV being broke. However, I unplugged the TV and took it back to the kitchen before the re tune was complete.

I'll try re tuning on the front aerial and then put it in the kitchen.

Even if the coax lead has not been damaged do just have a look inside the coax connection and ensure it is terminated OK, if the aerial lead has slipped out of the connector or the shielding has moved to touch the aerial during the modifications then this may be a simple solution.

Possibly the rear of house aerial has been knocked slightly off direction.
The digital channels are sent in groups on different frequencies so an off direction aerial could cause that.
