Hi,

We have a dishwasher that when it starts then there comes a pause for about 6-7 minutes before it starts working. It ends each washing program with satisfactory results.
I can't remember as if it has always had such a pause or not, thats why I wanted to ask you who have the knowledge if it is normal for a dishwasher to have such a pause, or it could be a sign of eventually its timer need to get replaced.
I have looked at the wires around the timer and all seems fine, no sign of corrosion or damage.

Thanks in advance

I am not sure, should it generally take 6-7 minutes to heat up the water?

If you're in a hard water area, then it's entirely possible that the heating element has furred up over a period of time. This could slow down the water heating time as the heat transfer becomes less efficient, try running a good de scaling solution through the machine. Once you've done that, run a solution of 1 Jiff lemon & 2 table spoons of White vinegar through on the hottest wash.

"Washing machines live longer with Calgon" - just saying.
Do you hear water go in then the long pause? If so then water getting up to temp like being said.
