In these times of lean pickings I have taken on jobs for new customers a few years ago I would have knocked back, for example this week I have repaired 2 x stick blenders ( bloody dangerous things), 1 x deep fryer, 2 pizza ovens, 1x ceiling mounted heater ( more a joiners job as the ceiling had come down but I had a sheet of ply)
1x fire alarm system ( thanks to Teletrix and others) fiitted a remote bell for a telephone, a new fan for a oven, and a set of brushes in a washing machine, and I hope there is more of the same next week anyone else diversifying

I was asked a while ago if i could put together an exorcise bike! Thought it was a wind up, but he said he worked in an office and couldn't do anything practical.

Told him my call out fee, he said fine and i spent an hour putting it together!

Replaced a window frame, re-hung a basin, painted a meeting room, re-hung 2 doors and fixed a leaking shower, all in the same property! Got paid went home! Money is money!

Me too, did 3 the other day, & a few other things.
I'll do anything for cash (but I won't do that!)
I've even done the dreaded PAT, but it did lead to something better.
Don't turn anything down, you never know what might come of it...

ive done pipe fitting/plumbing, fibreglassing, concreting, shuttering and painting. All whilst employed. A lot of blokes would say no, but for me, variety is the spice of life.
I know my limits, and if im not happy im not forced to do it.

I'm quite happy to turn my hand to most things so long as there's money involved, and am luckily quite 'hand' skilled across a lot of traditional trades, but I've always been wary of advertising this fact just in case you end up with the 'odd job man' label, as I figure that's ultimately counter-productive for decent levels of proper sparky work, esp commercial stuff. I quite often find that it's the older generation who will ask you to fix a shelf or something whilst you're there on sparky time.
