LOL, I started this thread expecting one or two silly replies, were now at 55 posts and it may yet get heated, if so I have achieved my goal, oh and found out who the real chimps are here :49:

THAT would depend on if the thermostat is faulty or not. :)
 
getting on fine, thanks. i've even got the instructions. problem at the moment is my 10D battery grip don't fit the 40D. the buggers changed the design after the 10D. so looks like a few quid got to be spent.

When I was looking for one for my 30D, I was considering another make but then found the genuine Cannon job on their E-Bay shop cheaper so got that instead.EDIT:

Google "Neewer" for an alternative battery grip..

seen the neewer on ebay. also some gen. canon. not in a rush though. not going to bid over a score. some neewer ones on amazon, new for ÂŁ23

some independent shops sell direct on ebay as it is cheaper for them.

i have bought quite a few bits fron shops that dont have there own site and just use ebay instead

It's worth checking the Canon Outlet E-Bay shop from time to time...

It's often a case of feast of famine - sometimes not much there but other times it's chocka block with stuff - not just photography but all other Canon stuff as well.

I've had a Fax machine and printer/scanner as well as lenses and a battery grip.
