I did wonder why with what only looked like 6 circuits the "complete new re-wire" didn't have RCBO protection? Not what looked like a much larger dual RCD board loeft over from another job!!

In fairness, it's TV, not a classroom. If ALL the trades used the correct jargon and a full explanation it would make for very long boring viewing, not the Light Entertainment it's meant for out in the general masses.

You're not wrong but isn't it this sort of thing, coupled with the fact that the show leads people to expect miracles, that gets us well meaning tradesmen a bad rep with the public?
"That's not what so'n'so said on TV" or "It took them a lot less time on TV".

Actually, I thought it showed the professionals in good light tonight. The fact that the guy was a bricky (and from what I saw of the blockwork looks to be a good one, too) and had to call in reinforcements demonstrates the fact that things rarely happen overnight if you want them done properly. And it also shows PROFESSIONALS being called in to sort out the problem, not the bloke down the pub.

well if there was no main bonding then how could there be supplementry bonding? so really there was no bonding at all, i just thought it was strange when he said there was no bonding so they shouldnt be touching anything and there were no boxes or chases done, well put in the bonding and the boxes then billy pmsl
