Hi Guys i remember reading a post about some one who had converted a roll up extention lead into a pro looking r2 wander lead .Can any one point me to this post or provide some details for this .£80+ p&P is out of my budget for a thing that i will rarely ever use.

many thanks

short all 3 conductors. fit 4mm male in place of the plug and 4mm female for the socket. then you have a male/female lead 25m or whatever in length.

Thanks telectrix

I recall the original post changing the "mains lead" part of the extension reel to some kind of special cable in green/yellow

cheers

Are you sure? I use mine about once a week and think that its a vital piece of kit. Not sure I'd want to roll out a homemade lead!!

I have the pukka lead, it is used on every T&I I do weighs nowt even, 1.5 flex on a reel weighs more think of the times your going have to leave it on top of steps or hung makeshift 3 time the weight plus the stuff you'll need to do to it Naw get a "reel" one

Thanks murdoch but i would point out that i do not profess to be a spark i work mainly in IT and PAT but do have a need to check an elderly retlatives iffy diy domestic electrics and believe i am comptent enough to put the defects right or at least to disable the dangerous bits (already done ) before seeking proffessional advice in remedy

Hi lenny. Take it from you not asking 72-van what brand of meter he/she has, that there are no compatability issues with connecting say a fluke up to a megger made wander lead?
Cheers
