Do i have to upgrade db to 17th

iv been asked to add some spots and some sockets in a house at the min it has a old wylex board with push button fuses the board has no rcd but there is one on the tails is this acceptable and yes i will be earthing water and oil supply

well...if theres an RCD on the tails....then does this C/U and the circuits it serves enjoy additional protection?....

and its bonding...not earthing for water, oil and gas services.....dont forget earthing and bonding perform seperate functions...

No reason why not as long as the existing is safe. You could suggest a new consumer unit while they're at it?

17th is retrospective. we'd all be rich if everyone had to upgrade when they wanted any work done. Funny how people will spend hundreds on spots and things, yet the thirty year old board is out of sight, out of mind?

i know its crazy the guy wants 31 spots adding 10 sockets and a supply for the aga yet wont pay for a db

well if he`s wanting all these extra points then you may want to consider the max amperage of this C/U....60A?

and whats the PFC at the origin of supply here?....no doubt those push button breakers may be a low max withstand...so check this as well....

3 dif rings up/down/kitchen he's getting a new kitchen/sunroom so its all going in there ah il get a fuse box out of him.
