Hi, Been asked to look at improving a Kitchen Radial on a domestic install (TN-S). Need to turn the CCT into a Ring. CCT is MCB protected on an 80's WYLEX board with an integrated RCD to 30ma in a 60A Main Switch (The Main switch is the RCD unit and has no seperate means of isolation and is NOT a split load board). My question is..... to comply with the new Regs, can i proceed to modify the existing circuit as is (RCD passed all tests) - or do i have to move the circuit out of this CU and provide RCD protection to this CCT also. Customer will not have a new CU, just thinks i'm trying to get more cash out of him!! Thanks for any advice.

I think you are saying the circuit will be protected via the 30ma RCD main switch?....if so carry on,your alteration will still be RCD protected.....as long as you make clear the limitations of having an RCD main switch to the client it is up to them....
