Well, there is the possibility he thought "oops" - as you do when banging a wasps nest with a big stick........

Wonder if plumbers still get the same stick, or if they're just sending them all over here now......

AC is were all the money is, Mates dad's firm made 15k in a day ripping old units out, all 2 of the them they were only in there for a year and they put them in!! makes you sick lol

If i were you i would add the optional extra day to that 5 week course , I missed the last week of my 4 year day release and still cant work out how the lads that attended that day manage. after many years i still cant get my ladders on the top of this bloody ferrari let along all my stuff in the boot.

I think everyone is feeling the pinch these days no matter what you do. I am a professional photographer and I have had my high street studio for years it was a good living up to just a few years ago but not any more. The world and it's dog have become photographers almost over night. Everyone who had a decent camera for Christmas last year is now either a wedding or portrait photographer or at least they think they are. Once they set out and work for peanuts, it upsets the public's idea of what is involved to do it properly, because many are doing it cheap and they are working a numbers game. Take enough pictures and there are bound to be a few good ones...That's exactly what they do.

Electricians are faced with the same problem, infact they always have been. There is always someone to botch a job much cheaper. It's the way of the world. Churning out more and more electricians is only going to exasperate the problems already faced.

I am also an electronics engineer and I work a lot with analogue electronics but that particular pastime was severely scuppered by all the cheap imports, effectively making the job obsolete. No one uses or repairs the kind of equipment I know a lot about anymore. Thankfully that didn't extend to guitar amplifiers as that is the only electronic work I do these days. However my point is, Something is wrong that when you have qualifications in photography and in electronics, that you can't make a living just doing one or the other.

Anyone who actually works for living doing technical work may make a good living doing that but will never make a fortune from it, unless they have good business acumen too and if you have that then you don't need to be an electrician or a plumber or anything. They are just various springboards, many people with good business acumen just need a good idea to start with and everything falls into place for them.

I can remember always explaining electronic circuitry to a guy I was in college with, he was pretty hopeless in electronics. However he didn't let ineptitude at the job he was trying to do hold him back. Today he is being flown all over Europe in a helicopter troubleshooting. He puts the people in place to sort out the problem. He is millionaire over and over but he used what he was good at and discarded what he wasn't good at.
As for me, I have the business acumen of a gnat......

Back to the question first asked by the OP.....The lure of loadsamoney is the carrot for the gullible to offload the little they have got and give it to those with more than enough.

I wish there was loads of big money jobs out there, as they say in the training providers paperwork, but its a dog eat dog work place and people will always undercut you. Everyone wants a bargin and the cheaper the better, the days where you could pick and choose your work are long gone. I used to put high prices in if I didn`t want the work and still get the job.I stopped working in the UK years ago and it works for me and I follow the money and earn a living but the hours are long and the travel a killer, don`t expect your family to like it. I have just started this year working in the UK for two months, due to visa problems and its a big change and the wages have dropped and I hate the tax man.

It only takes five years to go from rumour to standard operating procedure. In five years all electrical engineers will be able to do the job in five weeks...lol

the only loadsamoney seems to be in PV!!
I fully intend to do a PV c and G course , then get MCS accredited and then advertise
The whole thing looks quite simple to install if your an installation spark.
