That sounds fairly typical,seen 1mm 3 core/earth used fairly often for sockets , is it because it's similar to 2.5mm in external dimensions to the DIY 'experts'. :icon12:

or more likely it was wired by a muppet in first fix and by the time second fix came along it was too late lol

Absolutely. It'll be IP00 or, if the 'enclosure' has been positioned correctly, IP01.

Isn't it an SWA into an old MEM or similar metalclad switch ? If so and the SWA is a two core then it's worse than we thought ! :uhoh2:

Agree, thats an SWA - you can read the voltage dialectric value on the side.. I would suggest that isn't a swa gland and in fact the pvc is cut and the clip is bonded to the steel wires.
