Right ... Just been nudged to set this up by Paul.M and sounds a good idea following recent threads I've done in the Arms..

Those cable clips...self adhesive, metal with a plastic coating...if you made a small hole in the base and screwed through to the blockwork, would they be fire-rated against premature failure?
 
Moving a socket 200mm to the left if you are a builder - how to join the cable in the wall before plastering it over.

To be fair, the actual joints had a bit of thin card to protect the joint from the plaster.

NB: The original cable is rubber, approx. 60 years old, and exposed basic insulation has become quite crumbly.
