Right ... Just been nudged to set this up by Paul.M and sounds a good idea following recent threads I've done in the Arms..

The Volex consumer unit finished off the attempt nicely, along with almost indecipherable War and Peace labelling:

I am presuming the parts we are looking at were hidden behind kitchen furniture and appliances.

Pic 2 was the only one that was hidden, that being the redundant original cooker switch. Now being used to supply a cooker hood, double socket and two fcu's for appliances.

Pic 1 is the cooker hood socket outlet located on top of the cupboard, easily visible if they had bothered to look.

He had fitted a new double socket.

Mcb was still the 40 amp

Apparently it’s been like that for a week from when the meter was changed. I’m not buying that though as the meter monkey has no reason to touch the main earth.

What was even better was the property has an old 16th Ed board with no RCD for any circuit.

Maybe this proves RCDs and CPCs are overrated.
