Right ... Just been nudged to set this up by Paul.M and sounds a good idea following recent threads I've done in the Arms..

So you'll be repairing it in the same fashion as the repair lower down the cable and re-burying it ?

I will at least heat-shrink it

i'd cut out a square of ceiling, splice in a new cable drop, so the joint is then above ceiling. can then be enclosed in a M/F box if you want.

I was lucky enough to cut a square in the ceiling at the opposite side of the kitchen. Grabbed the cable and pulled it back. (Closer to the CU). In essence making it longer so I could chop off the damaged part.

Tel... I am unaware of a MF joint box for 6mm. The J803 boxes accept up to 4mm. If someone could recommend a product that would be great.

Wago have one, the 773-173. When used with their mf marked Wagobox it should be mf

this 1.5mm was fine till d*ckhead builder squashed it behind a RSJ. 2 hours of fault finding to locate after being boarded over.

after getting several sub 1 ohm L-e readings around the circuit, finally ame to end of line and got 0.07 ohms. so i says to Simon " fault is approx 2m away. when we cut into the board and pulled the cable out, it was 1. 8m from the end.
