Hi All

I'm a little unsure if i need to test all circuits in a consumer unit if i have added a new circuit into it. The circuit added is a ring final and has been installed in a spare way on the board, also one of the lighting circuits has now had a single pendent changed to 6x downlights. Do i just need to test these 2 circuits (along with bonding and Ze) and complete an new install cert or do i need to test all the other circuits as well. Any guidance/advise greatly appreciated

You only need to test the circuit(s) on which you have worked / made any alterations that may change the safety or functioning of the circuit.
Otherwise by extension you should then test all circuits connected to the same substation and then all circuits connected back to the Generating station, which could take some time!

I would just test the new and modified circuits. Use a EIC, and as a tip for the existing circuits, note "used" or "spare" as appropriate

Thanks for the information guys, much appreciated. Until recently i have not needed to do a great deal of testing, but i am now carrying out more and more and i am still using manual input i.e. filling out the forms myself which is a pain in the wrist as well as another part of the body! Can either of you recommend a decent software package or application? i have seen a couple of other tests sheets which have been printed out and look much more professional. I have a macbook so don't use windows so anything comparable with apple would be a bonus

Thanks again
