Are you suppling and installing or installing, ÂŁ7K for installation and Certification sounds about right but it really depends on the building, and as you mention Lathework I assume its old I do not envy you trying to get neat holes in that at all,

Just quoted eleven on a barn conversion with around about the same speck , maybe a few more down lights and that was with a extra thousand put aside already for fittings of their choice and they will pay extra if they go over that !

So its actually stated 7.1 K . Client buys all spots, and lighting control system.
Everything else was in the 7.1K. inc those posh sockets. total socket and switch cost was ÂŁ500.

I believe that there 300m 2.5, 200 1.5m, 100m 3core, 50m 6m as far as cable was booked.
But i the control system is wireless so no switch drops.

Have a look at toolstation they have two adjustable hole saws which also have a cowel to catch the dust, have used one for years. Plus they come with different blades for different materials. Just done a job and it didnt damage any of the other lathe ceiling as it can be a bit fragile in older propertys. Plus they save you getting a face full of dust and soot.

The link you put up seems an expensive place to buy gear, sure you could better them prices ... tool station , Sfix or a local whole salers, or is that make specified ?

Always cut holes slightly smaller and never breakaway the wooden strips as ceiling will start becoming loose try cutting them with the hole saw for the spotlights not putting much pressure on them. We work with them all the time in london very annoying.

slowly slowly catchy monkey with lathe and plaster ceilings. Slow, light pressure don't end up trying to patch it when it goes wrong. last one i did when horribly wrong - more ceiling on the dust sheet than above me. still having nightmares
