Domestic 3 phase

Visited a job today, barn conversion approx 10 years old. Property was agricultural barn to start hence 3 phase supply. It appears that most rooms have at least two phases in them, sockets and lights. Is this common practice and acceptable ? If I had done the work I would have kept the phase in each room the same, It's not even really necessary to have 3 phase, its definitely not balanced as all the lighting is on one, and the property is not that huge.

Sorry, question is is it ok to have different phases in the same room in a domestic environment ?

I believe you only have to mark up if the 400v is in the same enclosure requiring seperate isolation 514.10.1 BRB (BGB in van, BRB by computer)

If there's no longer a need or justification for the 3ph, then all you need is a Henley block at the source! Join the two downstream feeds together into the one phase and get the DNO to disable the other two phases - hence saving your customer significantly more than the cost of twenty minutes of your time to do it!!

NOTE: The above assumes an awful lot and that you've tested and inspected, no problems with neutrals, earths etc etc.

its only going to be 400v if its more than one phase in an enclosure or appliance
