Domestic installations

Hi everyone I’m new here and wanted to ask a question.
I want to do some domestic jobs but are currently not registered with a body.
I trained a while back and gained C&G level 2&3 in installation,level 3 domestic installation,17th Ed.
My question is can I do minor works, issue certificates and test with my calibrated tester.
At present I’m looking to get back into the trade after illness but don’t want to register.
I would like to work for someone already registered and help out on a part time basis but at present just want to do work for friends.

Sometimes is good to avoid the "friends" route. There are always people looking for someone to do the more DIY stuff and pay reasonable money . As long as you are on the right side of the law and not stupid . You should be fine .its not exactly a well regulated trade :-) !

In a dwelling in England, any additions or alterations in a bathroom, any new circuits, or a new (or replacement) consumer unit, the work needs to be notified to local building control.
It's worth downloading the Part P document from
