Here's one which must come up before - but no harm in getting your latest feedback!!

I am about to apply for Part P registration through one of the Competent Person Schemes. After reading up on the internet and making a few phone call's, I've narrowed it down to either the NICEIC or Elecsa. Have to say that Elecsa were a lot better than the NICEIC for their helpfulness and being very accomodating with any issues I raised - for this reason they are my prefer choice at the moment.

However, my NICEIC registered friend, tells me that generally only the NICEIC is recognised by the public and there are some Councils/Businesses around here who are thought only to give out jobs if you in the NICEIC.

Any thoughts/experiences out there??

hi depends on what type of work you want. i m with elecsa no problems and have recommended them to many. within the private sector good reputation will get you more work than anything. if you want commercial or council work yes nic is the way
