Hello,
My customer is in the process of turning an old outbuilding into a self contained flat. His spec includes 9kw shower, 3 x 3kw convector heaters, Oven with Hobs, 2 x -3-5kw under sink instantaneous water heaters, lighting and sockets.
It has been suggested that this is to be supplyed via the house 20-30m away which has an 80A 1361 service cutout.
After calculating the max demand and diversity for the proposed outbuilding installation i can't see how the 80A house service cutout will be able to supply this outbuilding as well as the original house?
Would it be recommended for the new self contained flat to be supplyed by it's own seperate dedicated DNO 80A supply?
Does anybody have any idea on the costs involved to do this?
or is it normal to run such a load off one supply? Whats the rule on domestic loads?
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks
