HI, I DONE MY LEVEL 303 WRITTEN EXAM YESTERDAY I WAS told this exam only really dealt with fault rectification and similar???not true this exam i sat covered all the course work i had done from 201 303 i was told by my tutor that 302 could cover all your course work and 303 was for inspection and testing and rectification, all i can say is this version of this exam was much more difficult than 302 so beware anyone about to sit it it can be very tough indeed and its the most difficult exam i have had i have been studying for betwen 8/10 hours a day for 3 weeks fr this exam as well, and what more infuriating is how frickin long it takes for them to get your mark back to 6 weeks...........rediculous

HI Jassy, what questions did you get as i have mine at the end of the month and i'm ****ting myself, any help would be appreciated.
I CAN TELL YOU SOME THE ONES I CAN REMEMBER MATE AS IT WAS A MIND NUMBING EXAM IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN??? it was hard i breezed through 302

1,NAME 3 ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS 3 MARKS. DESCRIBE THEM
, 3 MARKS,
2. DRAW STAR SUPPLY TRANSFORMER WITH ALL VOLTAGES ACCOMDATED,NAME 3 USES OF THE VOLTAGES./

what 3 things does the polarity test prove.

name 6 test instruments

there is a high elz reading in a ring main with the conduit used as the cpc name the tests to be done to resolve

list the isolation proceedure 6 steps

give a example of25kv, 132kv ,33kv;11kv,400v,230v

what does on load and off load mean/give an example of both

draw 6 symbols they asked for examples.bell.isolator.double.socket................

name 3 things included in a periodic inspection report

another question on a periodic test but it esapes me at the moment

these are the questions i can remember what caught me out was i thought it had all to do with inspection/testing/rectification
the 1st 3 questions where a surprised to me as they are the kind of questions i was asked in the 302 exam of which i had really studied for........but anyhow i have done enough for a pass answering 15 good answers may i add of out of 16 questions, its the only exam i have missed out a question that was number 2 name 3 electrical systems/discribe them, its word extremely vague like c&g do tns tncs,tt,thats what they meant but i ran out of time to go back and do the question mate, anyhow good luck.ps. i think knowing its the last exam of the level the pressure was just that bit bigger on me than normal

The exams will included everything studied to that unit.
Unit one multiple choice exam will be based on level two and level three unit one. Unit two will have level two, level three unit one and unit two. Unit three will have the lot.

And if you can get your heads round that you will have no problems passing!...... Giggle.

Good luck guys.

good luck my friend from what i hear there are only 4 examples of test papers in circulation at a given time so maybe you will get the same exam i had,i have too wait another 4 weeks for 303 mark..............................yikes such a long, long time to wait 6 weeks shocking they should give you a prelimanary mark earlier so to give you an idea if your going to have to resit the exam

When i was doing my training, We sat exams that covered the YEAR!! And as you progressed, exam papers covered parts of the previous year as well the year you had just completed. Final exams covered the complete course. And there was no such thing as ''multiple choice'', each question had to be answered long hand...lol!! . Where you needed calculation to answer a question, then your calculations needed to be shown in the space provided. There was no such thing as ''Units'' either!! So how long is a unit , ....a few weeks??

You lot don't know how easy you have it these days. In the earlier days of my training , we weren't allowed calculators either, ....that was considered ''Cheating!!'' ....haha!!!

No disrespect to anyone, ...but those exam questions are pretty damn lame compared to what i can remember of my day, ...but then, to be honest, i can't remember much about them, ....far too long ago...lol!!

i am 48 i sat an apprenticeship i got parts 1 and 2 2361,i needed replacement certifcates as i had lost the originals the council i done my apprenticeship with was not jib registered,so no one had any record of my apprenticeship city&guilds could only find parts 1 of my 2361 so i was snookered up the river without a paddle catch my drift,so i had to do it all again 8 exams in totall then the 17th and i will tell you it aint easier far from it i should know i have done both, but only in this occasion i have done it within a year of hard studying and i am a far better electrician for it

I catch your drift... As there was no JIB when i was doing my original training i doubt very much if they would recognise mine either, not that i have seen or looked at them in over 20+ years or so ...lol!!! Plus my original apprenticeship was within an industrial setting, that had it's own training school/collage.

Just a thought here, wouldn't the C&G Guild have records of certificates they have issued, or even the collage you attended at that time ??? After all, you can give them the year your part 2 was awarded to you...

As for not being easier or not, perhaps a lot has to with age, our minds find it harder to retain new information as we get older, unlike when we were mere lads starting off on our world adventure.

i only got part 1 of the 2361 course i sat city and guilds could only find1 certificate,i also contacted the college in which i done all the course work there records dont back that far.......yes age has a bit to do with it i agree but with age comes more determination ie commitment, city&guilds course structure is in need of modernisation and the time they take to release certificates after passing a exam is farcical

I find that hard to believe that a collage hasn't kept records during its lifetime tenure. Much more likely that the staff couldn't be bothered to go into the archives to retrieve your data...

All academic institutions such as C&G are slow at everything they do. But if a friend of mine can retrieve his deceased fathers C&G certificates, that date back far past your qualifying times, then you shouldn't of had too much trouble getting copies of yours.

I think age has more than just a bit to do with it, then again each of us are different!! Determination and commitment do indeed help, ...but it's that old grey matter that determines whether information is easily retained, or can be easily be meaningfully retrieved... It's the price we pay for getting older ...haha!!!

well i have had my 2 results back for 302 303 i have got a distinction for 302 and a credit for 303 exams.................which i am fair chuffed with i just need to sit the update exam for the 17th edition on the 24th of march, then get a job. next is the 2391 which surely cannot be harder than 302/303............i hope
