HI, I DONE MY LEVEL 303 WRITTEN EXAM YESTERDAY I WAS told this exam only really dealt with fault rectification and similar???not true this exam i sat covered all the course work i had done from 201 303 i was told by my tutor that 302 could cover all your course work and 303 was for inspection and testing and rectification, all i can say is this version of this exam was much more difficult than 302 so beware anyone about to sit it it can be very tough indeed and its the most difficult exam i have had i have been studying for betwen 8/10 hours a day for 3 weeks fr this exam as well, and what more infuriating is how frickin long it takes for them to get your mark back to 6 weeks...........rediculous

I CAN TELL YOU SOME THE ONES I CAN REMEMBER MATE AS IT WAS A MIND NUMBING EXAM IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN??? it was hard i breezed through 302

1,NAME 3 ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS 3 MARKS. DESCRIBE THEM
, 3 MARKS,
2. DRAW STAR SUPPLY TRANSFORMER WITH ALL VOLTAGES ACCOMDATED,NAME 3 USES OF THE VOLTAGES./

what 3 things does the polarity test prove.

name 6 test instruments

there is a high elz reading in a ring main with the conduit used as the cpc name the tests to be done to resolve

list the isolation proceedure 6 steps

give a example of25kv, 132kv ,33kv;11kv,400v,230v

what does on load and off load mean/give an example of both

draw 6 symbols they asked for examples.bell.isolator.double.socket................

name 3 things included in a periodic inspection report

another question on a periodic test but it esapes me at the moment

these are the questions i can remember what caught me out was i thought it had all to do with inspection/testing/rectification
the 1st 3 questions where a surprised to me as they are the kind of questions i was asked in the 302 exam of which i had really studied for........but anyhow i have done enough for a pass answering 15 good answers may i add of out of 16 questions, its the only exam i have missed out a question that was number 2 name 3 electrical systems/discribe them, its word extremely vague like c&g do tns tncs,tt,thats what they meant but i ran out of time to go back and do the question mate, anyhow good luck.ps. i think knowing its the last exam of the level the pressure was just that bit bigger on me than normal

Hi, thanks for the questions. I have to sit this exam in a weeks time so your questions would be a help, hopefully.
I wonder if you passed or not.... it takes ages to get results back.
Cheers

well i have got my final exam results back i got distinction for the 302 exam and a credit for the 303 exam of which i am very chuffed indeed i just need to finish it off with the 17th edition update and then a ecs safety exam for a card but i am not sure how to get the ecs card i have looked on the net but it seems like a mine field to me can anyone give some advice on which safety card i should get as i need this to send of to the jib to get some sort of grading...............?there is so much RED TAPE INVOLVED IN THIS TRADE NOW its a mine field

may be a bit late mate, but i would get a saftey passport (aka CCSNG). this will allow you onto more sites than the ECS, although it is more expensive.

Congrats on the result. When I did my ECS test 2 years ago, the process was 1. Apply. 2. Get the book through the post and revise. 3. Get test date through. 4. Do the test. 5. Get results. 6. Fill out application form for grading with JIB (needed 'sponsor' i.e. someone from a JIB company to say that I was competent to applied grade). 7. Send in form with check and photo.8. Get card through post.

hope that helps.

4)L1+N
5)L2+N
6)L3+N
7)L1+L2
8)L1+L3
9)L2+L3
10)E+N
6)check your voltage tester in the proving unit again
7)lock off the supply and padlock it
8)NEVER give anyone the key keep it in your pocket

It's a CCNSG and i've had one for over two years and never got a job with one! CSCS/ECS is the card that most construction sites recognise unless you want to work on power stations, petrol forecourts etc of which then you'll need the safety passport but I think its a waste of 100 quid plus VAT! Also I started on a new site yesterday and why is there always one idiot who never has a CSCS card or any equivalent? They reckon they've never had to have one, rules are no card no job!

the 205 for me was just single phase???? im going onto year 3 soon and aint done any 3 phase, would this come up in year 3

At my college they say they like to teach us more then we need to know for level 2 so that level 3 won't come as such a shock, the only practical we have done 3 phase is locking off a 400v supply and we have done a little bit of theory.
From what i've been told then yes 3 phase will be part of level 3.

I can :p:eek: add "and post warning notices" on the end of number 1 :D

I would also maybe add to point 1 to observe and consider any safety services or other systems that may be affected by isolation. Being given the nodd by someone to isolate doesn't really mean that they are aware of the affect isolation may have on the existing installation.
