Doody Toody has been working with me again these past couple of weeks, couple of days here and there. Sorry you were in the van when I crashed it into learner driver!!!!

Everyone is OK, no one was injured (apart from seat belt friction burns) but the driving instructors car might be a write off! Pulling out of a junction and T-boned another car whilst she was on a driving lesson. Sent the other car 10-15 foot side ways down the road!!!! I feel really really bad about causing this accident and taking the driving instructors car off the road at this time of year, that is his only means of income which my stupidity has now put an end to. Hope his insurance company gets him another duel peddle car asap so he can continue trading. The day before Christmas Eve, not easy to sort these things out with insurance companies. At the end of the day it is only metal, plastic and glass that were damaged and no one got hurt (although a whiplash claim will be heading my way lol). Not a good start to the new year, van insurance will be going up to around ÂŁ2k I recon???

On the other side of things Doody Toody has really impressed me and other electricians on site, he is welcome back any time. Ok he is a little bit slow at 2nd fixing but that come with time with all of us. I left him to 2nd fix a full house alarm system by himself and only one small fault happened. Really good for a first year student only 3 months into college, well done and keep going. You will turn into a great Electrician.

With all the things that are being said about our industry on the forum lately, people like Doody has raised my opinions about the next wave of trainees coming into the trade. This I thank you for.

Gutted to hear that mate, **** happens though.. Instructor will be compensated for any time off and I'm sure they will be able to get him a car quick. Wouldn't worry about any whiplash claims or anything else, as far as i know a claim is a claim don't think amounts come into it when you renew. Just ring them up fill the forms in and forget about it after that, let them earn there wage for once!!

I forgot to clamp my big ladders on top of the van a couple of months back and they fell off 5 minutes onto the m62 and a 59' plate BMW ran over them... ooops!

Is your van ok or are you off the road as well?

xmas present problem solved, paul. now i know what to get you.

[ElectriciansForums.net] Doody, Sorry & Thank You

hope you guys are ok, human life is more important than lumps of metal, Paul are you still on the road ?

First thing I said when started talking to them both, we are all ok, it is just metal and plastic. Van is alright, still on the road. Damage to the Combo is nothing in comparison to the other car, crumple zones on the drivers door etc. This accident could have been a lot worst, we were all lucky that no one was injured.

Tel I may need a bumper car lol. Can it get ladders on the back?

Have a great xmas lads AND yes, it is all Marvo's fault pmsl

Correct, thats what you get for wearing Grass skirts

Good to hear that there were no injuries. All the metal and plastic can be replaced.

Cheers Trev. Feeling a little bit of whiplash myself atm. Nothing really, had worst doing sports.

Hope you have a great Xmas mate. Time to spend with family and friends with food and drink. Enjoy.

The crash was spectacular. Turning right a see a car come infront of us  Paul said he heard me gasp and then we crashed  it was like a PIT maneuver and I rightly pointed out "You could do more damage to the van if you kicked it with your steelies"
Everyone was okay so it's okay to laugh at... I'm going in for my practical test again lets hope i don't get took out by some plonker like Paul.

Thanks for the kind words Paul. No hard feelings on nearly killing me

You forgot to tell people about how we went to the wrong house after:

"Hi mate, sorry we're late ... Just been in a minor car accident. No one was hurt; Here to do some testing"
"Oh! No worries mate"
*Goes to step through the door*
"Sorry... Who are you again and why you here?"
"Here to do some testing for so and so? this is so and so lane?"
"Nope. never heard of them and this and so and so lane is over there"
"Oh... Terribly sorry mate, we've got the wrong address" (Paul only went to the other side of leeds:willy_nilly:)
"Oh no worries... uh yeah... sorry to hear about your car crash though"

Glad to hear you're still in the land of the living after your day out with Paul, you're obviously braver than me, I've never met him but he sounds like the kinda guy that I'd do a risk assessment before even going out for a beer with him.:38:

I've now got a phobia of Learner drivers lol

Thought about this afterwards mate, 1 second sooner and the learner would have plowed into your door?!?!?! Lucky it was not any worst than it turned out.

I have worked on that house before and I got the customers names wrong therefore the address's. I was supposed to go to one of the forum sponsors house  It all worked out in the end.

Ironically the wrong house I went to called me yesterday, wants their alarm upgrading and lights in the garage! Funny old world is'nt it? Going around in an hour to test and quote.

Risk assessment lol. Not far from the truth with regards to what happened xmas eve night out with the lads. Not going to tell you because it is embarrassing. It may be on the TV in the new year on one of those "what drunk people do and caught on CCTV". I really need to act my age and not my shoe size!
