Guys,

need a door access kit with a keypad...anybody have a preference or used a kit they would recommend?

cheers

guys,

I was under the impression alarm cable was good for these. Checking instructions it says use 0.5mm which I know 6 core alarm cable aint?? The runs aint long tbh but I dont usually fit these further than the supply spur etc. I've got some 0.5mm so can go from transformer down to keypad but as terminals are small im going to struggle to get all the cables in/out though the fitting etc

You can use 6/8/10/12 core alarm cable fine for it, If you were able to goto many of the installations of this stuff around you would find it is used for it all the time. The current going through most mag or strike locks is in milliamps. However you can always double up two cores in the cable or worst case scenario use 0.75mm flex. I stress this should be for the lock cable only. The keypads, sounders etc are definitely able to run on 6/8/10/12 core alarm cable just fine.

yep I had to get an "L" bracket for the magnet as the door frame was too shallow. However as the frame actually has a little depth (but not enough for lock) it means the maglock and armature have a gap between them of 14mm and destructions say 7mm is max. I have the magnet as far forward on the "L" as possible so I need to bring the armature off the door so to speak to reduce the gap. As far as I believe the "Z" is if the door opens the other way?
