Door hold open devices

Quick question guys, door hold open devices that hold the doors open but close when the fire alarm goes off, does these have to be wired in fp200 type of cable.

could they be wired in 12v alarm cable??

are you thinking about something like doorguard? I thought they were all 24V? Stiil, they dont need fp cable, but I would use 1.00 t&e.

yes you should be ok with that because if the fire was to destroy the cable the doors will close

Ive seen alot of 240v ones. Usually AFTER ive bought a 24v unit lol.

the company i work for always insist on using fp200 for the door mags but thinking about it i can see why the other guys say you don't. if you how the spec from the client then it may say whether you need it or not.
