I have seen the results of this once. A guy called me to ask what to do. He was having a shower and the power shower was on fire. You can imagine my response. I later discovered cable burnt out inside the power shower. Someone had fitted a 'cheaper' lower capacity power shower and left the higher capacity fuse in place. #10 also says "I will change the shower myself"!!The only way you could know the cables are extremely hard to bend is you have changed the switch your self. That could be the problem.
