downlighters??

HI, Im doing the electrics on a kitchen extension. The customer wants downlighters. Will these fittings have to be low energy to comply with part L of the building regulations? or can I fit standard 50w gu10 fittings? cheers
 
hahaha i really hope some pc geek dont try what you just suggested James!! hahahaha!

high tower way to terminate is by twisting the live strands together and icorporating a piece of speaker wire in with it and using that to the light !!
 
I was going to say my old mentor Mr Wayne taught me to trim off the cores so there was just the single core to terminate, works really well!


(I actually saw that the other day in a socket with three old style 2.5T+E, they had trimmed off one core from each cable to make it fit in the socket terminals, then got the polarity around the wrong way!!! Obviously trained with the same mentor as me)

Anyhow, the socket worked like that for the last 25 years, why is it such a problem!
