hi building inspector has said that he does not want kingspan insulation to be cut in any shape or form so i am conserned with the downlights not being able to breathe is there any solutions to this install

Well insulated ceilings and the fad for mountains of red hot downlights is the cross we electricians have to bear unfortuately

Add to the suggestions ,if you use halogens make sure that the lamps have the aluminium skin that deflects the heat downwards
The hoods are supposed to cater for sufficient air flow I am told, but dont believe that for a minute

Agree with Des there, although i have to say, i wouldnt trust the client to replace lamps in the future with the correct type.

And they WILL replacing them fairly frequently, if they go with halogen.

hi everyone. tell the building inspector to put his face near the spots for as long as he can!!! then he will cut a breathing space himself.
