I am wanting to put another led light from a switch that is already being used, is it ok to drill through the side of the metal back box and wire in the blue and brown wires.

It depends how the switch is wired.

If theres a neutral at the switch, then its possible....

If its only a live and switched live, (which could be a brown and blue) then, no you cant. You need a neutral

see #2.... there HAS to be a neutral at the switch.... not just a "blue" cable that may or may not be what you need

If you did that, you may find both led lights would work when the switch is off and only one would work with the switch turned on.

Could you post a photo of the back of the switch?
Unfortunately if the 3 plate setup is at the fixture/ceiling you would need to pull the neutral from there somehow.
