morning.

i have a house coming up with 20 odd down lights in kitchen. but when i look at ceiling joists i can see the room goes in a angle and joist go at an angle too.

so i know im going to hit the joists left right and centre and know wont be allowed to cut joists to accomadate down lights.. few tips or tricks in how talking customer round or what you would do in situations like this, thanks if you been there many times and wanna share..

Just been reading my woodworking magazine where they where talking about a story stick which is basically a batten with all the measurements marked on the stick.

Could you do the same for the lights. You could mark a batten with the joists, then work out where you want the downlights to be and mark it on the batten. Offer the batten to the ceiling and mark off onto the ceiling.
