[ElectriciansForums.net] dp isolater /swahi need help please ,im useing swa 3core from this main dp isolater back to the metal/ consumer unit,my q is how do i terminate the swa at the dp isolater, many thanks

OK since all is quiet, I would purchase a wylex 108M and a 60 or 80A fuse to protect your submain (dependant on reference method), Move the isolator up put the Switchfuse below it and tail into that from isolator, then take your armoured straight into the switchfuse as it will be metal, I would say it would be perfectly acceptable to your DNO to have a suitable switchfuse mounted in their meter box

Personally i'd say that isolater wasn't DNO property and was only installed for ease of self connection and so that they can walk away with the meter sealed.

I would remove it and put the tails straight into your switch fused. Move that earth as well to give you all the bottom right corner.

Also use a tails gland and clamp if available and make sure tails are secured to a wall. The danger here is a live to earth fault in the Consumer Unit
