Hi all
Hope xmas was fun and the new yr brings everyone lots of happiness and **** load of tax free money

Ok my question,,

Having completed a C & G 2391 can I carry out Domestic PIR issue a Cert to that effect, as I am registered as a Domestic Installer with NIC

What I really want clear in my head is can I walk into a clients house issue Cert to say all is well (having carried out the inspections) regardless of the fact I have not don any installation work on the premises,

Guess I am going to answer my own question

All I am reporting on is the condition of the wiring as it is now , yes?

There is no requirement for anyone to have any registration/certificates/knowlege/insurance etc to do Pir s

If you want to use NIC certificates, they will require registration for that purpose(additional to Dom inst )
They will assess and register you for them.exam passes/ competence/insurance would then be required

There is nothing stopping you or anyone else from carrying out Pirs, but in case something goes amiss after doing a PIR it is advisable to

Have Public indemnity insurance
Be competent and be able to demonstrate efforts to become competent by passing exams such as 2391,in order for a judge not to hang you
Become registered by a scheme providor

If these are not taken up,then there is still nothing stopping you doing Pir s
