Anybody ever installed one of these and are they any use. Went to a clients house today to drill out through the wall for ducting for an extractor fan i a bathroom and she's informed me she wants a ductless fan?? Surely these wouldn't be efficient getting rid of moisture?

Only two types of ductless fans I have in mind
A cooker hood and a dry air unit for expelling moisture
I haven't heard of such a device in a bathroom so I had a quick nose on the net just for interest
This was a good reason for not having the device

quote
Building codes have, for a long time, stipulated that a bathroom have either a mechanical fan vented outdoors, or an operable window. Newer revisions to most codes now call for mechanical ventilation whether there is a window or not. The reason? Excessive moisture buildup can cause several serious problems, including mold and structural rot.

And this
Recirculation of air. Exhaust air from bathrooms
and toilet rooms shall not be recirculated within a residence or to another dwelling unit and shall be exhausted directly to the outdoors. Exhaust air from bathrooms and toilet rooms shall not discharge into an attic, crawl space or other areas inside the building."

She has a responsibility to conform to building regs, you are advised to give her that information and then its her call in my opinion.install what she asks for

Cool, never heard of it before so just thought I'd check. Not gonna be a problem to drill out and I'd say that having ducting would be her best bet!
