as far as i'm aware unearthed mettalic equipment, other then class 2, has never really complied, so definate c2.
You would be fine in court as you have followwed all relevant guidance with regards to the coding of sockets.

i'm just doing the 2394/2395 at college now , last week we inspected boards with sockets not on rcd's. we have been taught to code them. C2 if it becomes dangerous under another fault condition .

Thanks howard.
Agree with alot there but some not so convincing. I.e where would I stand in court if someone electrecuted themselves outside while mowing the lawn and I said all is ok but there was no rcd protection on socket cct.
Also things that complied earlier I dont agree all was safe at the time. I.e old toggle switches a 4 year old could unscrew and touch terminals or unearthed metalic switches.

the same place in court as the garage who MOT'd my Cortina, when i run into a woman pushing a pram, and i only have drum brakes. NOT YOUR PROBLEM, you have no liability for people cutting grass or anything else they may be doing with the sockets, you recommended improvement, and that is all you can do.

Sorry mate, but you are not being taught properly. The 2394 and 2395 test rigs MUST be at current regs, to comply with C&G requirements. There are faults that can be switched on and off for 2395, but you should not be given a non compliant test rig, tell your tutor to read the assessor guide for these qualifications before he screws you up well and truly.

Cheers.........Howard
