I've heard this is the way to go if you want to become a domestic electrician. I've been advised the 2 week course at the cost of ÂŁ1495. Obviuosly I'm not going to learn a great in deal in just two weeks but hopefully all the basics.

I've pm'ed TonyM58 about it. Just waiting for a reply.

Who else has done this course - would you advise it? I was unable to do a search because each word has to have at least 4 letters.

Thanks,

I don't think it's a case of, "would we advise it" (the course) but WHICH training centre are you going to do it with. (Sorry, can't advise you myself).

I believe that EAL is the way to go if you want to concentrate on domestic work (not on building sites).

Read the link below for a bit more info on routes into the trade etc.

As for TonyM58, I don't know him personally though we spoke on here many a time and if his teaching standards are anything like his answers to peoples questions then I would thoroughly recommend him as a tutor.

Hope this helps some?

Hi Freedo. I did a Four week course three years ago consisting of C&G2381 (16th Edition) EAL Part P, 2391 Inspection and Testing, and C&G 2377 Portable Appliance testing. I passed everything exept the 2391 theory test, I found that really hard. There was people sitting that one one their third and fouth attempts but some of our group passed first time!! The course was run by a company call Technique Training in Chesterfield. The course was very intense but realy good. I would recommend it.
