Ok so I went to a college open day today and spoke to one of the electrical lecturers, who told me about this EAL qualification which comprises level 1, level 2 and level 3, I cant remember the course number but I was wondering if this was a recognised qualifiaction, is this the same as 2330? Also what would be the best course (just want to be a domestic electrcian) No need to worry about time or money as Im not even 16 yet

I teach the EAL Level 1 and 2. Level 3 is done by yourself in year 2 at your place of employment, with assistance from an Assessor like me. The EAL is a recognised qualification, and a very good one as well. If you take the EAL NVQ route, then you will also do a Btech Electro Technical qualification along side it one day a week for 3 years.
The NVQ is the practical part, and the Btech is the theory. It doesn't matter what line of Electrical work you wish to specialise in, you will have to do the full programme, there isn't an apprenticeship in Domestic only. You will change your mind on that one anyway once you get into the apprenticeship and discover motor control etc.

So would employers treat this the same as city and guilds 2330, or is it better? Also how long does the whole course last for including level 1, 2, 3

The EAL NVQ is at least equal to the 2330. Most employers will be aware of the NVQ.
You can do level 1 and 2 in about 20 to 22 weeks if you get your head down, it is mostly practical, and is done on block release with your training provider. The Btech takes one day a week for 3 years.
Level 3 is up to you, it is done at work, and you have to do certain tasks depending on the modules you are given that are applicable to the type of work you are doing. If you push it, you can do it in no time at all (six to 12 months), but as i say its all down to how hard you work, and the effort you put in to the write ups etc you will need to do.
