Amazed

I have just purchased a flat that had a new consumer unit installed in March 08. However I was surprised to find that there is no earth bonding in the bathroom even though it has an electric shower. The only earth bonding I can find is to the incoming gas pipe and to the cold water pipe at the washing machine. Furthermore, the shower has no pull switch in the bathroom, only a wall mounted switch in the airing cupboard in the hall.Should I call in an electrician or is this ok. I have all the certificates for the work done so I suppose it should be to the necessary standard.Any help appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forum:DCan't see a problem with that

It is a split load box. RCD protection to sockets and shower, non RCD to cooker and lighting. Furthermore, I have had all sorts of conflicting info from electricians i have spoke to. I have changed the old cooker for a new gas hob and electric oven. I want to fit a double socket in the adjacent unit to plug my gas hob(electric for ignition only) and electric oven into. I then need a supply spurred off this to power my cooker hood.I have been told that this cannot be done as you cannot fit sockets in units. This particular electrician told me to cut the back panel of the unit so he can attach it to the wall. Is there any other way and will it need 6mm cable to the extractor.
