Earth provision (TT)

Was wondering about stuff at work today (out in the sticks upgrading caravan supplies and earthing)

Regarding TT supplies, weather or not the electric supplier should provide the earth (including achieving the lowest value). I think they should.

wrong. caravans should be TT and it's up to the site owner to get you to supply the TT earthing.

Caravans aren't relavent, wasn't a question about the work i do but about weather the supply company should provide an earth.

In that case no, the provider doesn't provide the earthing if it's a TT supply. Daz

I don't understand your point here. You supply your own earth yes. What was the question again? Daz

Weather or not the supply company should (i know they don't already) supply an good stable earth with a TT install.
Obviously they do with a pme or tns, was just wondering if anyone know of any instances where they would bang in an electrode where providing a TT.

Yes,you must provide a path to earth,but that does not always mean "banging" anything in...there are other ways :hair:

It makes more work for the electricians (which is how we make a living maybe?)

Have a read of the ESQCR (it's freely available online at the governments legislation site due to it being statute)

I still don't know what you're after. If it's TNS or TNCS then earth is provided, but if the supply is TT then you provide an earth by whatever means suitable for the situation. Daz

I think the OP is asking whether the regulations should be changed so that this becomes the responsibility of the supply company?
