Earth rods

Anybody know the required distance between earth rods for separate properties ?

They should be as far apart as the longest rod is deep. So a pair of rods driven to 3m should be at least 3m apart.

As johnny boy stated, but as far away as possible between earth electrodes connected to two different supply systems/installations

Thanks that was what my memory was saying but couldn't seem to find any written info or guidance notes.

im not sure its noted in any official documentation. Try downloading the megger guide to earth electrodes, its a very concise guide to installing them.

and try and avoid gas and water mains.

Thank you, thought I couldn't remember seeing it written anywhere and wondered if the distance of rod was rumour control.
