I've always thought (rightly or wrongly) if you add a new circuit then you've to make sure all the earthing is correct before signing off certificate. For example you're water service & gas service being earthed. Anyway, installing a new ring at the moment & whilst under the floor I couldn't see an earth at the water service or the gas service. Now there's definitely a 10mm earth leaving the consumer unit, just not sure where it clamps on. Anyway I've done continuity test to the water service & gas service & everything is fine? Should I run a 10mm earth to water & gas or just note what I have told you on test certificate?
