Earthing question relating to test certificate.

I've always thought (rightly or wrongly) if you add a new circuit then you've to make sure all the earthing is correct before signing off certificate. For example you're water service & gas service being earthed. Anyway, installing a new ring at the moment & whilst under the floor I couldn't see an earth at the water service or the gas service. Now there's definitely a 10mm earth leaving the consumer unit, just not sure where it clamps on. Anyway I've done continuity test to the water service & gas service & everything is fine? Should I run a 10mm earth to water & gas or just note what I have told you on test certificate?

note on the cert. that connections are not accessible, but bonding confirmed by measurement. if only 1 10mm from CU, however, it could be that 1 of the services is only reading through pipework connections. e.g. at boiler. a bit more investigation to try and find the bonding connections is what i would advise.

Sticky situation. Sorry to say, but you should have checked it first. Does the bond serve both water and gas? They should both be accessible anyway.

If it was easy to rectify and install correctly I would just bite the bullet and do it as it should really be checked before you start work and pointed out o the client that it is required.

Thanks for the help. It's not a problem installing it so I'll just do that. Better to be safe. It was only today I managed to get access under the floor & noticed it, I'd stupidly just seen the 10mm earth leave the board, done continuity tests & assumed they were bonded underneath the floor.

If I can see them at the Board but can't locate them I note it on the estimate and say that it will need to be done before I actually start the agreed works and put a sum for installing it should it not be located.
