Hi,

I am currently working on a block of flats which the whole building is steel framed, my question is really... does it need to be earthed? Thanks

Do you mean to provide protective bonding to the frame because it’s been proven to be extraneous?
Will the frame work be exposed anywhere in the building or will it be completely hidden in the fabric of the building?

Hi Ian,

All the building is hidden, but things like handrails are metal which are going to be fixed to the metal frame etc
If it meets the definition of an extraneous conductive part and is accessible to touch then it requires bonding to the MET
