Hi everyone.

I have limited hot-water (unless i use boost) I can also keep my hand under the hot tap without it hurting. Recently had a new heating element installed at bottom of tank and a new heating controller.

The top heating element works perfectly with boost. The bottom one which should activate in the off peak doesn't seem to ever come on. If i manually change the time to 1am, 2am etc the timed light never comes on. The clock is working correctly and keeps time.

Everyone loves a photo:

Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!~

Do you have an Economy seven electricity supply?

Depending on how your economy seven is connected it may work in various ways.
However one method is that there is no power to the system except for at off peak times
Another is that the whole supply is charged at off peak rates during off peak times but all supplies are permanently on.

It sounds like you have the former arrangement so even if you change the clock on the controller the supply to the lower immersion is off so it will only light the timed light overnight (normally about 12-7am).
If the clock and the off peak supply are both on then the lower immersion should work, it may be that the economy seven times and horstmann timer times are out of synch so that the lower immersion only works for a short time.

It is also possible that the lower immersion is not correctly connected or faulty from new, but this would be more difficult to check.
Has it ever worked or did it not work immediately after the changes?
