Hi there

I am new to this forum and joined to find out what is going on with my E7.
Last Wednesday the E7 came on during the day when it should only come on at 22:30 and goes off at 07:30. I switched it of at the switch in the boiler/immertion heater cupboard and then switched it on manually again at 22:30. The next day and ever since that day it has been fine till today, again on a Wednesday.
My question's are, who or what controls the E7 timer and why is this happening?
British Gas says that it is the boiler that is playing up, I can't understand why or how this can be.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Eric

The E7 timer, if I read your post correctly is the suppliers responsibility - the E7 timer is part of the main fuse/meter set up?

Your Hot water will be controlled from you off peak meter, your electric supplier controls when this goes on and off. You will get an afternoon boost for an hour or so, this is why it comes on. The times do stay the same but can vary.

Thanx for that, I thought that the E7 was controlled by the supplier,it has been on all day today and yesterday.Phoned Britgas and they can only send an engineer out on the 18th of feb, pathetic.

E7 coming on at 22:30 ? should be 7 hours during the night eg midnight til 0700, there are other economy tarriffs E10 etc but they split the "cheap " times up differently. What have you got on the E7 - storage heaters etc ?

There are different methods used to switch the E7 older analogue timeclocks that can go wrong and newer signals sent by the supplier.
