Hi Guys,

New to the forum and would be glad of any help. I Cannot figure out where the immersion heater feed from the E7 Consumer unit CB goes to. There are two Immersion heaters In the Cylinder and the E7 one is not working. I opened up the timer and have L+N supply( from the CB in the Domestic Consumer unit ) and the supplies to the two heaters.

What time of day did you conduct the test?

Thanks for getting back to me. It was 11am in the morning and the supply to E7 CU was off.

start with the reisitance of the element & stat. and work back. don't forget the thermal cut-out, either in the stat or directly in the element housing.

Element working OK. I temp wired it up to domestic supply to check it. I just cannot understand where the supply from E7 CU is connected.

Sorry if I'm missing something here. Just so I understand the problem. you cannot identify the end of the cable fed from this particular circuit breaker within the E7 consumer? Is that a correct statement?

Correct. I do not know where that cable is terminated.

Ok. Give us some background please.........how many circuits have you successfully identified from the E7 consumer? etc.

Are you sure the immersion actually has a connection to the E7 consumer unit, possibly it does not.

With the greatest of respect. Do you want me to lift up floors and break into walls. If a cable starts at a CU it must terminate somewhere and if not at the timer where. I came on the forum to ask for help
from people who have experience of E7 and are willing to help me with my problem.

you could follow it with a tone generator.

Can you post a picture of the cylinder showing the immersions and whatever controls there are.

Also depending on the age of the house there may be an additional switch in the kitchen or another room to allow convenient operation of the immersion. (It has fooled many a plumber and sparky around here)
